| Our Story "He has made everything beautiful in its time..." Our church was established on the 5th of February, 1995 without a name to go by and a venue to hold services in. Nevertheless, a group of 97 committed believers held the first meeting at a picnic in Tench Reserve, Penrith. It was decided at that meeting that the first church service would be held on the 12th of February at Doonside Neighbourhood Centre. During this service the name of our church was officially announced, AGAPE CHRISTIAN CHURCH.   
As our church experienced tremendous growth in membership,
the services were continually held in different locations around the Western
Suburbs of Sydney. Despite this, we never grew weary of
actively searching for a permanent site to claim as our own. In October of 2001, a property was found and presented to
the church body. Immediately the property was claimed as our permanent
location! The first church service in our new home was held on the 4th of August,
2002. Since then, through the loving and faithful efforts of our church members, the building and its land has continued to expand and progress. Under the Lord's leadership and guidance, our congregation has committed to follow Jesus, working to do His will in their lives and in His church. The church is steadfast in reaching out to the community and nations to spread the Word of God that gives life, hope and a future.
a·ga·pe We all know what it means to loved or be in love. We know what love is. But Agape is a new kind of love. It's the type of love God wants us to learn, because it's His kind of love. It means a love that's not only unconditional, but active. It's one thing to love someone unconditionally and another to love them unconditionally while actively giving them your time and effort out of pure love. That's what it means in John 3:16 when it says, "For God so loved the world that he [not only loved but] gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." God not only loves, He acts in amazing ways towards us. [We've added the emphasis in square brackets].
That's the spirit we aim for at Agape Christian Church. To not only be a church of love, but to be a church who gives to others the best of our time and energy - God's kind of love. And more importantly, to be a church who loves God just as He loves us in all that we are and do. Agape has a vibrant community of all ages and we welcome anyone!
